Princesses and Alieens

First of all I met some princess friends!

and the mouse himself!

Now onto important things!
It's Halloween time here at Disney! Hard to believe its happening already! But I decided to take full advantage of this and start up on my Halloween candy stash at Mickeys No so Scary Halloween! This is a ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom where you get to dress up and trick or treat as well as other fun things!
For my first of I'm sure many visits to Halloween at Disney, I dressed up an Aileen from Toy story!

The Claaaaw

We even had the evil boy next door, Sid!

The Monsters were out on the dance floor! But they don't really let you take pictures!

Space Rangers!

A little blurry but yes I do have one arm up! Its a first!!

And now done with the fun. I start food running next week and need to begin studying again to prepare for service! I am excited to move on into the next step toward service but I am also worried because that means it is getting close! Fingers crossed for me!

Cocoa Beach

I have been working a lot and was feeling like I am not experience all of Florida and only Disney. So this meant a beach trip! I have lived in Florida for 3 months and haven't been to a beach! That was a problem. So Dixie and I rented this bad boy...
And headed to Cocoa Beach, about an hour and a bit outside or Orlando. Our hotel was right on the beach and also close to the Worlds Largest Ron Jon Surf Shop. The beach was defiantly not like home, and once we got past the thought of sharks and jelly fish we had a blast in the water, with our newly purchased Body Boards (An investment for the year!). Cocoa Beach was a quiet place as we were there on a weekday and school has gone back in already here in Florida. But the place was picking up on Friday when we left, gearing up for a surf competition that weekend. I didn't get my surf lessons I wanted but hopefully next time!

First glance of the ocean from the Mustang!

Drinks on the Pier

Ron Jon

Our big investment!

Dinner Daiquiri

My dinner! We were on vacation and splurged

Dixies Massive Club Burger

Jelly Fish!! We didn't go back in after this!

Couples surfing! Who knew

It was nice to finally go out and do something! We had a great time! The best part was sleeping in big beds that didn't squeak when we moved! I did however have a bit of a problem when we returned home.

Maybe a bit to much sun!

It was defiantly hotter in Cocoa then Orlando! Which is hard to believe!

When we returned home we re-packed to meet a co-worker that had a friend staying in Orlando and had a hotel booked. We were staying with them for the night! so we ended up getting two nights out of the Apartment! They were staying at the Disney resort Pop Century, where we would go strait to work from in the morning.

Back at work I discovered I now have a food running date which is September 23. This means I move up into a new position of running food for servers, this is the start to service and the start of studying again! Back to that f-u-n! I am now quickly on the path to service!

"studying"

The past weeks have all been about studying. Here are some pictures of me studying...
A bar called JellyRolls with Duelling Pianos

Very Large Red Solo Cup!

Studying hard!

But Really! I have been studying hard. More than I have ever had to study for anything. It was hard to find time to study in between work but I had help!
Work help a wine 101 course that I attended and wine 102 will be coming up. this is helpful for me as I know nothing about wine!
I finally took the test on Thursday and had some celebratory dinner and drinks! It feels great to be done! Hope I passed!
Thursday Dixie and I went to the Mexican Pavilion for Dinner.

Mexican Dinner!
Dixie then also somehow convinced me to do Tower Of Terror.....

As you can see I was not impressed. Somehow the little boy in the front does not care at all!

To further celebrate being done I then spend the Next day at Magic Kingdom and had dinner in Italy for my favourite Pizza!

Made a stop in Mexico for Margaritas as always!
And then some how I was convinced to go on Tower of Terror Again. I give into peer pressure to easily!

This time I just look mad.
Now back to work for 5 day! It was nice to finish my test this week and have some time off to enjoy the parks after being so stressed. Hopefully it will be awhile before I start food running and can be stress free for a while!

Work, Work Work (And a little play)

I seem to work a lot. Big surprise, its like I came down here for a job! And what spare time I have should be spent studying (I say should!).

I am now a certified Disney trainer! Which gives me this little guy!

This means I am moving up in the Le Cellier line and am also getting some better shifts! Some.
We are getting lots of new people in every few weeks so I am getting a few training shifts. Us Winnipegers are taking over! There are now 6 of us and more coming soon!

On Friday night I went to Downtown Disney with some friends and went to my favourite Irish Pub that has a great live band (when I say great I mean cute). I joined the band to play the tambourine as it is my profession.
As some of you may know I have a song by the Luminers where they sing to me (They may not actually sing my name but that's beside the point). I mentioned this to the band when they said the were going to play some Luminers and they sang the song the right way (With my name). So I can officially keep calling it my song!

I also ordered some clothes online which was great because they arrived in 4 days and I paid no shipping! That is one major perk to living in America!

I hope to be having more adventures soon!

More MK and celebrations

I recently lost my camera but have re located it and can finally share some pictures!
I am discovering the time of days to wait for rides as well as the wait times are over estimated (As to create a magical moment I am sure) So I am experiencing more rides.

Another day off another day in the mk. That would be Magic Kingdom for you non Disney folk.

No big deal I got a score of 999 999 on Buzz Lightyear
(There may have been a small malfunction)

As i'm sure everyone already knew yesterday was national ice cream day. As this is a pretty important holiday I felt it needed to be celebrated! Choice of celebration was Downtown Disney!
And as this is disney there are many, MANY, Gift shops where I love to use my discount! Dixie and I had been eyeing some matching sweaters for quite some time and decided it was the night to splurge!
So soft!
Today (As I had to go pick up my camera at lost and found! Opps!) I decided to go to magic Kingdom for some Starbucks on main street and walk around for a while!
Starbuck really struggles with my name here!
but its still way to good and should not be so easy for me to get!

This week I will be taking a Train the Trainer class to become an official Disney trainer and then next week I begin training some fellow lumberjacks!! Big step as I still feel like I'm in training myself!

I also have my menu knowledge test coming up that I am not even slightly ready for! Time to start a little more studying!

4 parks, 14 hours, 1 day off

It was recently brought to attention that I know little about all the parks and have barely had time to visit them all! As I don't get many days off a friend Chelsea took it on to have me visit the best parts off all the parks in one day!
I feel more educated now to help guests and actually talk to them about the parks! (Instead of pretending,,opps!)

We started the day in Magic Kingdom for the park opening at 8:30am. As I am not a morning person this was a big deal that I made it there. Starbucks was promised.

After starting the day off right and getting Pixie Dusted (My first time) we hit up three rides I hadn't experienced yet: The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Splash Mountain.

I'm really happy

Missing a partner!

Fellow Nanny
After stooping in at the main street Starbucks we took up to the Animal Kingdom. (First time on the Monorail too!)

Three more Stops here (4 if you count tracking down the Lemonade rum!), Finding Nemo The Musical, Kilimanjaro Safari, where the Tour Guide was less then enthused about her job!, will have to go again, and the Lion King Circle Of Life Show.

My First Girrafe!

Next was onto Epcot for Pizza in Italy and A bit of Sangria. Or maybe more than a bit! It was by far the best pizza I have ever eaten! Cantaloupe on Pizza, who know!
After stooping in America for a Bourbon and Lemonade we made our way to Hollywood Studios for the American Idol Experience Finally and Animation Studios where I drew Goofy! (Perfectly of Course)
Final Product!

Concentration

We Ended the night in Downtown Disney for some Desert and Shopping! Loving my Disney Discount!

Today I went back to work and had an early class about the Disney four Keys. The learning never stops!

Now time to study... Tests are coming up quickly
