Work Work Work

I have been working for the past five days which means nothing to exciting has been happening! But now I have two days off in a row! Today I will be tackling the giant Walmart to go grocery shopping which I'm sure will be super fun! (Sarcasm).

To apologize for my lack of posts here is a picture of me as a lumberjack!

Dixie and I went out for dinner last night in the need of meat which we haven't had in about a month! We see and smell steak all day and can never have it! So we thought it was necessary.

We were very excited for our low grade steak and potatoes!

Epcot

After Working for the past couple days and doing my first alone shifts(So stressful) we all had a day off on Thursday for appointments at the social security office to get numbers. While getting up at 5AM was not so fun, it was great to have the day off. The Canadians and I decided to explore Epcot more, especially because people are always asking me questions about Epcot that I don't know the answers to! After going on some rides to avoid the rain we decided to brave it out and visit the 11 countries around the world in Epcot.

Starting with Mexico! Which is my new favorite!

And I finally got to watch the Epcot Firework show that I always hear but never see!

 



Today is my last day on Popcorn cart for a while. Tomorrow I move inside and start my training in the restaurant.

A Visit to Hollywood

I have officially started work as a Canadian lumberjack! Things are going good. Pretty overwhelming but I will get there I'm sure! The days are pretty hot and I'm told it will just get hotter! ahhhh. My new best friend is the fan in my room. Well that and the toaster we got!

After working my first few shifts I had a day off to visit another park! Hollywood Studios! This park had a lot more shows then it did rides. However this is good for me! my roommate Nicole convinced me to go on a rollercoaster, which was the most terrifying experience I've had! Pretty sure I cried at some point when we went upside down. Not impressed! I think I'll stick to the magic kingdom rides for kids!

We watched Beauty and the beast as well as the Little Mermaid. We waited a very long time to see Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. On stage and waited another long time to watch a Pirates of the Caribbean Show. And an hour and a half wait to watch Fantasmic. a day of waiting!

Exploring

Monday was discovery day, where we learn about the History of Epcot and get to see where we will be working! Dixie and I decided to stay after and explore the 10 other countries featured!

And dinner in China..... I was to hungry to take pictures!

 

Today Dixie and I both had a day off together and decided to have a full day in the Magic Kingdom! As did the whole state of Florida and 10 000 other people! It was one of the first days in a while without a threat of rain which made it a perfect day to go to the park. Wrong! It was packed full of people and too hot for words. I cannot believe it is still going to get hotter than this. Most rides had an hour or more for a wait, and we were not waiting in the sun for that! So we stuck to the air conditioned shops! We did manage to get on a few rides and see some shows! Monsters Inc. Was by far the best!! Oh and we ate a lot!

I also got my first mint container to add to my collection. It was a great day that got me even more excited to spend the year here!

Tomorrow I have my first shift In Canada. Pretty nervous but need to start making some money!
Maybe I will take a picture in my lumberjack costume.... Maybe!

Disney World

On Saturday we had traditions class where we learned all about Walt Disney and the company values. We went to see these values in place at Disney World, I went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time this trip and was beyond excited.... and hot in my business clothes!! It was a pretty fun class and I sat at a table with some people from around the world making some new friends. I was also group leader. No big deal! Our instructors were a lot of fun and gave out prizes! Mickey Mouse came to bring as our nametags and to remind us "It all started with a mouse"

After returning home to change out of my extremely hot business clothes, I went back to the Magic Kingdom with some of my Canadian friends and as I don't remember much from my first trip it felt like my first time.

Our first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean and I went on a roller coaster! Yes me! We also watched the fireworks show Dreams  and went on some other rides. Overall a pretty great first visit in many to come! Still hard to believe I work in this place! Pretty Magical!
